That leaf is red,
definitely red not
orange. But he
says it’s more orange than red.

I can see
it, clear
as anything can be
and there is no trace

of orange, only red. Still,
when we look at the
leaf on the dusty ground he
sees it in an orange tint.

It doesn’t seem to matter
how hard I stare or squint,
there’s just no mistaking;
it’s red.
