On our trip home from India, we landed at Bangkok international airpot, stayed one night, then flew out the following day. None too soon according to the news today that there were violence at that airport today, and resulted in canceled flights.

Anyone else have this kind of close call?

1 Nigeria--too long and painful

2 was in CAiro a few weeks before the big bombing in 98?

3 went on the Nimitz one week before the 89 quake.

4 Went into an ISland Creek deep mine a few months before the big blowout in 84 or 85.

My number aint up yet and I figure it gives us some scars to brag about.

Wow, farmerman, you've had your close calls too! Adding to my list:
1. Went to Israel after the summer war two years ago. Friends and family members thought we were crazy to consider travel there, but there were no incidents.
2. One month after returning from Bali, the bar and shopping center my roommate and I were at were blown up by terrorists.

August last year - Hyderabad. Was supposed to be at a training (peacebuilding, ironically). If the training happened on schedule, I would have been with the group at the Lumbini park at a laser show....just as a bomb blast took place there (7 dead).
