No one is forcing anyone to eat at McDonald's. If you don't care for the company, don't patronize it. End of problem.

$7.50 a pound for the big mac seems a bit much, given that they don't pay their workers a living wage and don't pay much out in taxes either. The chain makes over half their profit in breakfast however, where the food cost is very very low compared to the sale price.

Are their restaurants designed after NYC subway cars or was it the other way around?

Sure we are. I kind of like McDonalds for breakfast, especially when traveling. Coffee's pretty fair, too.

We really, really underestimate the people who work there. Anyone who can stand the pace and confusion of a busy McDs should be a prime candidate for any job in the country not requiring specialized education. Starting wage in Farmington, NM is $7.00/hr.

Speaking for my community here in British Columbia, McDonald's is now paying $9.00 an hour.

Off topic, but Farmington has to be one of the worst places in the country in terms of wages to living expenses. Maybe on the whole continent.

Laughing You don't want to know what the price of real estate is here in the Vancouver area.

Let's just say it's the highest, or amongst the highest in Canada.

Almost all food you eat is genetically engineered - and has been even before we understood anything about "genetic engineering". Farmers have been randomly cross polinating crops and animals for thousands of years.

You know, it is really strange. Mr. P. has a LOT of allergies. We have to be very careful of what he eats, especially when we are travelling by car in unfamiliar areas.

We have found that, lousy as it is, McDonald's food does not bother him, not one bit. The thing that is good is that their stuff is consistent no matter where you go.

McDonalds is no worse than tv dinners or most any prepackaged food, Burger King, Wendy's, Rally's, White Castle, Taco Bell.....

It's not just Farmington, Roger. The whole Four Corners area is depressed that way.

The $1 double cheeseburgers are one of the best deals in the fast food business.
