I have seen an awful lot of small businesses go up for sale since Obama was elected. When I was driving home from up north last weekend, I saw two that were not for sale when I drove up Friday. One was a small contractor who had his backhoe and dumptruck for sale in his yard. The other was a day care center - they had their bus for sale in front of the business - also for sale.

Anyone who thinks comments like "spread the wealth" and "tax those making more than (insert random amount here)" is going to help this economy is dumb as rocks. The recent knee jerk in the markets is a direct reflection of Obama's polling numbers and eventual election. Markets don't like socialists.

I noticed the weather has been pretty crappy since he was elected also.

Geez, now that you mention it, I'm pretty sure the days are getting shorter since he was elected too. Give us back our daylight, dammit, Obama.

Just wait. As soon as he's inaugurated, they'll start blaming him for Global Warming....

Awesome observation. You know that little sig line at the bottom of our posts in tiny print? Mine reads: "The economy is relatively stable at this moment." -H20_man 7/3/2008. He had the grace and humor to concede that maybe that opinion was a bit optomistic. I have been looking for a new sig line since. Thanks, cjhsa.

The timing was either a coincidence or we are dealing with some very stupid people.

Seriously? You're calling Obama stupid? It's typical of an intellectual to have a mind that works much faster than his mouth.

You're clearly the opposite.

And you're certainly the first genius around here to figure that one out. Still, I'm sure the joke eludes you.
