Another theory, Obama doesn't know how to run a car company.

At least we can all hope that Obama know far more how to run the country then Bush who got us all in this mess to start with.

You cannot blame all the stuff Obama is doing on Bush forever. He has been in office almost a year now.

Well Bill-- Mr Obama is in the right place as a convenient scapegoat for a deep-seated institutional failure. And he chose to be there.

It was his stimulus bill that did not stimulate anything, but it did help create the largest annual deficit in the history of the country. And unemployment has continued to soar past what Obama himself predicted with his so-called stimulus policy. He is stimulating government, but thats about it.

100% wrong, it very much so stimulated the economy - and helped save thousands of state jobs, as well as manufacturing jobs in our auto industry.

Wrong again, it was his advisers who said that - and then admitted they were wrong a month later.

Well, when private enterprise can't get the job done, someone has to. And private enterprise proved it couldn't do it.

I keep seeing this claim, but I have yet to see anyone prove it.
How do you "save" a job?
Since I am still working, did the Obama admin "save" my job?

I have yet to see or hear anyone explain how you prove you "saved" a job.

Much of the Stim funding went to State governments. Most states are in really bad shape right now, b/c it turns out that everybody was invested in these Toxic assets to a much greater degree than they let on, property values have plummeted, and tax receipts have plummeted - all at the same time.

The stim bill helped many states avoid cutting employees, in many cases first responders, and I don't have to tell you how important it is to keep them in biz, MM. Let me hunt up some articles for you, though, b/c you asked.

Forgive my ignorance, but I truly dont know.

Wasnt the Stim supposed to help the private sector and put people BACK to work?

How does that jibe with saving govt jobs with it?

The stimulus bill had a variety of different purposes, and only some of them can be said to be directly related to 'helping the private sector.' Large parts of the bill was assistance to State governments (which keeps them from shedding jobs, a thing we can't afford to have happen right now) and to individuals in the form of payroll tax deduction breaks. The purpose of it wasn't just to create jobs, but to help people, homeowners, States, and distressed sectors of our economy (GM and the Banks) ride out the recession without dying.
