One of O-boy's first executive orders will be to revoke President Bush's opening up of much of the country to oil exploration.

Get ready to pay for your "change".

@cjhsa,
There may be one hope on this front, which would be the old Congress of Racial Equality ( CORE) organization. Ordinary white middle class people having to pay $5 - $15/gallon for gas, they don't give a rat's ass about. A recognized black group suing the envirowhacks over it, they might.

@gungasnake,
The other thing he plans to do is close Guantanamo and ship all the prisoners to the mainland. Is he insane? Perhaps we should send him there for awhile.

Good. Wasting ten years and millions of dollars to squeeze a tiny percentage of our oil needs out of our wilderness isn't worth it. Especially when we need to focus on moving away from oil completely.

If we really want to release the stranglehold the middle east currently has on us, then the way to do it is to stop needing oil (the only thing they have to sell).

Sure - where the mob of cjhsas and gungas rules, there is no law. Especially not for an elected President.

@Walter Hinteler,
As soon as you become a terrorist and target civilians and elected officials, the law no longer applies to you.

Can you say "Ayers"?

Just out of curiousity... can you give a reason for why you think that's insane....something besides Obama is a ca ca face?

@Bi-Polar Bear,
Because by doing so he's trying to give them the rights of Americans.... they aren't Americans, they're enemy combatant terrorists.

You fuckers are trying to tear the USA apart from the inside out.

Yeh, it runs on something called electricity. Ever heard of it?

@rosborne979,
All the windpower needed to generate all that electricity is going to kill all the raptors, creating a hole in the food chain, which will allow rodents and vermin to overpopulate, and eat all the food, organic and otherwise, intended for humans, then we will all starve to death, and you will get what you really want. A human free world.

At least two problems:

1. Electricity has to come from somewhere. for the last 40 years or thereabouts, the envirowhacks have fought every known way to generate meaningful quantities of electricity as hard as they've fought everything else America needs in the way of energy.

2. Even if every vehicle manufacturer on Earth were to cease making petroleum-powered vehicles this very day and henceforth produce nothing but electric vehicles, the existing fleet (for want of a better word) of vehicles still would extend three decades into the future before being more or less totally retired. For the next five years at least the vast bulk of all vehicles would still need gasoline or diesel fuel.

@gungasnake,
And what about airplanes? Are they supposed to run on electricity too? The lack of simple thought on this matter should be enough to circular file the electric argument, but the greenies are so sure they are right (they're not).

@cjhsa,
then why haven't they been tried found guilty and executed? If they are terrorists...kill them ....but no ones attempted to prove that...and I'm sure they've tortured all the info out of them they can. How much revenge do you stupid cocksuckers need?

The new wind turbines are much larger, resulting in slower blade speed to generate even more power. So the problem of danger to birds has already been solved.

I like humans. And I like modern conveniences as well. You're lumping me in with a group that I don't fit with.

We're going to change their minds with rational arguments. So you won't be able to help.

So what. Five years isn't that long, and the alternative solution CJ offered was to get more oil. How does that address your complaint?

If you've got a better suggestion for how to end oil dependence immediately, then let's hear it.
