Heehee.... I knew you'd bite.

I was thinking about getting some cultchah.
This looks up my alley (snort). Too bad it's over in a few days.

It is 1989, and one of the most vicious Eastern European regimes of all time is on trial.
And it is 1976, and Nicolae and Elena Ceausescu, at the height of their powers, mount a pageant to celebrate the glory of the Romanian nation.
And it is the fifteenth century, and Vlad Tepes – the original Count Dracula – steps out of the dark mists and swings his cape about him. He looks around him and his eyes gleam red.

You're not going to be 31 anymore?

That's a bit disconcerting. We've known you a long time, eh.

~~~
Turning 40. Start with a manicure and a pedicure.
If that's the other side of the hill, I'm two valleys over.
There wasn't any trial as I recall. The people who took over realized how dangerous it was to keep the Ceausescus alive and killed them the first opportunity they ever had, which was altogether correct.
That was a case in which the government had an absolute monopoly on weapons and terror and the people rose up regardless, meaning that they had literally arrived at a point of not caring whether they lived or died.
The Gold Dust Orphans are doing "All About Christmas Eve" Heehee...... Maybe that's in line.
Also this sounds interesting -
Emmy Award-winning comedian Judy Gold returns to the Huntington with her outrageous stand-up comedy after last year’s triumphant 25 Questions for a Jewish Mother. Bold, brass, and clocking in at 6’3”, Judy is ready to divulge all the comic highs and lows of being a Jewish, lesbian, working mom raising two boys in New York City. Judy’s electric humor and outlandish opinions are enough to keep anyone rolling in the aisle all night long.
The trend here is FUNNY.
Kuvasz - will do anyone else want me to punch it for them?
Rockhead - it doesn't bother me now..... no need to hide (I may feel different in mid-December)
Beth - a pedicure is a great idea!
Make sure you don't drink too much. It's harder to handle alcohol at that age. And maybe get some Depends to prevent leaking. Vitamins for seniors are also good. I can say this now that I'm pushing 50.
By "this year" you mean either November or December of 2008, k? You'll have to tell us all the exact time so's we can celebrate with you! Very Happy
How should you celebrate?
Hmmmmmmmmm ... <thinking, thinking ...>
Anything that you've been thinking you'd really, really like to do, but haven't had the opportunity to do so far? Travel to a particular place? Start work on that painting you've always wanted to paint? Move to Mexico? Etc, etc, etc ..... (Think big!!!)
....Then age 40 is a really good time to do it ... whatever "it" might be!
Be a devil!
Go on! Wink Very Happy
She's a relation (well, she's a relation of my sister-in-law's, but still ...).
What about something like hitting all of the theatre district (seeing as it's not so big), and seeing, well, everything? Quality and genre would be all over the place, might be interesting.
