dll file missing

would the msvcp71.dll not found error upon boot, cause download problems or driver configuration problems? I'm trying to set up hp450c plotter on my win98 machine, and it keeps saying illegal operation performed, program shutting down.

You follow technical advice from me at your peril ... however ...

You can download the .dll file ..... HERE.

Paste that .dll file into: C:\WINDOWS\system32

If that does not solve the issue, try to registering the .dll as follows:

Start > Run
Type: regsrv32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\msvcp71.dll
Click: OK.
