On a site for lyrics writers, I logged in to tell Mr X I like his new lyric. -A few lines could be tweaked a little.- And I gave him five stars.

He messages back, saying I was right; the lyric is no good. He removed it.

I messaged again, telling him it was good, just a line or two might have been improved.

So I get another message. He is sorry he wasted our time with his bad lyrics and he has removed all of them from the site. And good bye.

O-o-okay- - -

I don't want to cut short a man's dream this way. Hell, most of my lyrics could use a major overhaul. Same is true of many song lyrics that have been wildly successful. You do your best and then take your chances. This man is his own worst enemy. I hope he comes to see that.

It sounds like he doesn't understand constructive criticism, or as you put it :his own worst enemy." I feel kind of bad for him.

Then again, maybe he's being a drama-king?

When I did this thread, I had minutes before read the last message the guy left. It bothered me some. I recognize that I am not at fault. Also that he is probably very young and insecure. I am done with it now.

I think you're right.

If one puts material out in the public, one must expect that not everyone will like it, much like A2K.

It's too bad he committed suicide by walking in front of your car, but it sounded like it was bound to happen. Wrong place, wrong time.

you very clearly stated (twice) you were only talking about 1 or 2 lines, not the entire thing.

The fact he twice went way overboard in his reaction speaks volumes about him.

I don't know that one overcomes insecurity by being told everything you do is golden.

Knowing you edgar, you spoke very diplomatically.
