I know, CI - I've seen pictures of it built up back into the hills. Kinda glad I saw it early, but I wouldn't mind seeing it now either.

I stayed in La Paz for a while too, probably 1979... they just opened an el Presidente Hotel (we got a package deal, something like $119.00 for four days, per person, heh, including the flight), and the president, Lopez Portillo was staying there. Creepy, since there weren't many hotel guests and a lot of soldiers with guns.. in the town square, Portillo's speech was blasted out of loud speakers, and no one appeared to be listening.


Really have enjoyed your photos, it brings a sense of it back. I can just "feel" the weather....
