I suggest that u be forthright about it.
If he does not answer your message, call him,
to make sure that his spam filter did not snag it.

If u have strong feelings in the matter,
it will be a mistake to conceal them.

Since he's your best friend, I assume you've got his # and are otherwise in contact with him. So why not call? I mean, give the guy a chance to answer -- after all, there are many perfect legitimate reasons why someone would not answer an email immediately. But if it's been a few days, there's no reason why you can't follow up, so long as you're not pushy about it.

Heck yes, give him a call. That's how my wife and I started dating. We met at a friend's party on a Saturday night and she got my phone number from my friend and called me early the next morning to invite me over to spend the day with her and her girlfriend. I went and the rest is history.

Of course, all this was back before there was email. Had she emailed me an invite I may not have seen it for several days, she would have thought I wanted nothing to do with her and I might now be married to a total stranger!!

So call him.
