WHO IS THE BEST RAPPER OF ALL TIME!!!???

I think you gotta go with Rakim, right? He's got old school roots but his style really set the stage for the next generation of hip-hop. I honestly haven't listened to much of his more recent stuff--I'm talking about the era between Paid in Full and The Master. To someone who doesn't quite know history Rakim may not sound like a big deal. But you have to consider he was a pioneer in his day and nobody sounded like him.

Then again, taking into account beats, raps, voice, looks, I could also make a strong argument for MF Doom.

I like the older rappers as well. Run-DMC, Beastie Boys, LL Cool J... but the best rapper? Who knows. Everyone has their own opinion. Eminem is my current favorite rapper, but then again, he hasn't done much recently that I have listened to.

yeah i always thought eminem was the best, he's also took alot on his shoulder, n being white doesnt help, but everyone has opinions right?

He hasn't topped Illmatic, but I'd say that album alone still puts NaS in contention for best rapper.

Phife Dawg and Q-Tip when they were in Tribe.

I know they are a bit dated but some classics never die.

Tribe put out two of the best hip hop albums ever made.
