truly independent financial advisors (those that do NOT sell any products but get paid for their services) generally advise AGAINST reverse mortgages - except in rare circumstances . ALWAYS check the fine print and get advice independent of the lender !!!
usually it's cheaper to just get a short-term loan ... unless you plan no to pay it off .

hbg, That's essentially what my gut told me that reverse mortgages were not a good idea. I'm sure like most things in life, there are always exception to the general rule, and each situation is different.

our old family docs first question was always : "how's your gut ? " - even before checking blood-pressure !

mismi :
mrs h is coming along just fine - cooking up a storm again - today's menu : rabbit in sourcream gravy with arborio rice ... ...
thanks for your concern !
