Some classics make me cry as I think it can do with any of us. But most of all, it's Pavane by Faure, I cry every time I hear it in some movie (they usually put it in most sad parts).

Joni James does a good job with I Can Dream, Can't I.

Bonnie Raitt ~" I can't make you love me.... ."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nW9Cu6GYqxo

When I was going through the break-up, I sang this song this to myself, over and over....and cried every time.

"...and I will give up this fight.... ."

~~
Months later, I heard it on the radio and I had to leave the room and go bawl.
~~

So,
I just saw this thread and I thought "Oh, that song Bonnie sang "
and I went and looked it up.

And now I know I'm okay.
I listened to it all the way through.....
and not a single tear, no

@Joe Nation,
I'll ditto that re my favorite singer, Bonnie Raitt. I've seen her 2 x in person. It'll be 3 x soon as I'm seeing her in Tampa Bay area.

Then there's Adele singing 'Someone Like You' on '21' a major tear-jerker. I have it on a vinyl lp purchased as of 1 week ago.

Oops..almost forgot it: 'Everybody Hurts' by R.E.M.

@Diest TKO,
There are three songs from the top of my head that when I hear them...they always made me cry and they are:

1. Jennifer Holliday - version of the Donny Hathaway classic "Giving Up"

2. Beyonce - "Listen"

3. Aretha Franklin - "It Hurts Like Hell"

Interesting thread, since it started almost exactly when a2k had a makeover that involved thumbs and other stuff.
I'm the only one who managed to nab almost 100% percent zeros.
Luckily I stayed here, since I'm stubborn, but that was an interesting opening to the new a2k for me.

"Songs" don't do it for me. But, Beethoven quartets...and damn, the Schubert quintet with two cellos:

Sometimes I cry from
"All Apologies" from Nirvana.
Just because that was like Kurt's suicide letter.
It reminds me what he could have become and how loved he was.

@Diest TKO,
This topic has brought back ancient memories. Two songs came to mind immediately... recorded 30th Jan 1968 was "Honey" by Bobby Goldsboro. I remember that I tried to avoid that song so as to avoid the grief I felt when hearing it. "Old Shep" was also a killer. Fast forward some decades to Harry Secombe singing "If I Can Help Somebody (along the way) and that just about sums it all up. Thanks for the memories.
