Since giving up meat, I've found myself eating more hotdog facsimile than I ever ate in terms of the real thing.

Soy hot dogs--Smartdogs--taste pretty much the same (minus salt) as the standard dog (nothing like a kosher dog though). I've been joking with my roommates asking: "I wonder if it's made form the worst parts of the tofu?"

Lately my choice dog has been...

@Diest TKO,
I've eaten veggie (soy based) hot dogs. And they don't taste like the real thing. Nice try Diest turned Failures Art! Razz

DINING OUT

These dogs are no mutts
Excessively dressed up, tasting of foreign influences, single or double, with sides or not, the hot dog reflects simplicity and economy when you eat out in a stubborn economy

@ossobuco,

@ossobuco,
There should be a pause button - bottom right hand corner of the slideshow.

@tsarstepan,
Aha, the pause (which I think of as stop already) is only occasionally visible. Thanks.

@ossobuco,
Ok, the eggroll dog and the kimchi dog interest me (whatever the "dog" wienie, hebrew national or tofu mockup).

@Diest TKO,
You need to add wasabi to spice up that no! meat dog. I'd have to put pico-de-gayo to eat that dog.

@Diest TKO,
I like my hot dogs plain and simple. Just the meat and the buns are amazing. Occasionally, I would put pickles on it. But not often. Only times I would ask for a pickle topping is when I'm craving pickles. Seriously, I buy like fifty jars of pickles every month. I'm a pickle addict. And when I run out, I ask for pickles on my hot dogs. Of course, I pick out the pickles first and eat them. Then eat the hot dog, savoring the edges where the pickle juice is.
