You can get a wifi card as long as your laptop supports it.

Well your question isn't much clearer even now.

You can use the same hardware you use at home in Wi-Fi hotspots but it sounds like you are talking about laptop cellular cards. You'd need service (and the card) from your mobile provider for that.

Can you explain with more detail? It could be something else entirely and I'm not completely sure what you are getting at.

Do you want internet anywhere? Like cellphone service?

Do you want to know how to connect to a hotspot in a hotel, airport or Starbucks?

I'm not sure what you are going for.

If you are already using wifi at home what the hotels use is likely not any different and your existing hardware should work.

I can find you instructions if you let me know what OS (e.g. what version of windows) you use or you can ask people at the hotel to help you.

I have a 5+ year old Sony VAIO that I used in work for years with only dial up for internet service. I recently tried to see if I could upgrade it to use on the road etc. The computer shop was able to sell me the plug in hardware so that I could use cable or dsl, but said there was no way to make it accommodate wifi. I took their word for it.

(I've since retired it and acquired a new notebook with wifi and bluetooth built in. What is blue tooth and how do I use it?)

Your looking for a Wireless USB Adapter. You can find one at any Best Buy or similar store. Or you can buy it from amazon:

Bluetooth is a short-range wireless technology, which allows you to communicate with other bluetooth-enabled devices.

The most common bluetooth device is a wireless headset. There are also things that will allow you to do away with your printer cable, keyboard cable, mouse cable, etc.

You have to buy the bluetooth enabled device, and then figure out how to assosciate it with your laptop.
