I have saved all my Outlook Express e mails from their storage folder (in C:documents&settings etc) in windows xp home in a folder on an external hard drive. I now have converted to Windows Vista and am using Microsoft Outlook, supplied with Office 2007. How can I convert the outlook express files to a format compatible with outlook and then import them from the external hard drive. The built in 'import' does not search external hard drives.

@davyand,
Import messages into Windows Mail from Outlook Express

Once you have done that, you may be able to import to Outlook from Windows Mail using Outlook's import tools (I haven't tried it but that's how Microsoft used to do it with Outlook Express). If you can't you can export the mail from Windows Mail in a format compatible with outlook by doing:

File > Export > Messages > Microsoft Exchange
