The head and abdomen of the bug remind me of a Mantis. But I don't see any specialized front legs for killing.

Can you imagine a world of coexistence with really big bugs? I don't think we'd last too long....

Ok, I'm certain that the insect in your picture is a Preying Mantis, but haven't yet identified the exact species. You wouldn't believe the number of mantis species there are.

The insect in your picture has a distinctive Mantid head, abdomen and legs, and it is in a classic Mantis threat posture with wings unfurled and facing the threat with legs ready. What fooled me at first was I couldn't see the killing legs, but after looking more closely I can see that they are folded up tightly along the sides if the thorax.

If I find the exact species I'll let you know .

If you didn't have any other reasons for not living in Pakistan, that would do for starters.

Those are nothing compared to the camel spiders.

I'd have to own five cats to live in any sort of a place with camel spiders. At LEAST five....
