Considering what he's been though recently, it must have meant a lot to him. Thought Jesse Jackson Jr became One To Watch.

Grand theater, but nothing more politically.

Inspirational speeches are very effective during times of crisis. This not one.

Whether or not he deserves the title of Lion of The Left, he is a lion in his battle with cancer. Quite remarkable and inspirational in his very human struggle.

Sorry - I didn't realize you were starting a thread that required respondents to agree with you.

You are just so off the mark, it is hard to fathom. One would think any human being would be moved by Kennedy's courage and determination.

Nicole, just try to ignore Finn. It's best that way.

I teared up when he took the stage. Seeing his family in the audience do the same didn't help. I can not believe that he got through that speech with tearing up himself. Wow.

Any vision?

For all his faults, I have a lot of admiration for Ted...

Vision? I dunno. He kept saying how he would be there with Obama. He would be there in the senate in January. Change was coming. It was strong, but maybe not much on the visionary thing.

What? I admire his "battle" against cancer, but this criminal is singularly responsible for the eroding of the American culture due to his immigration policies. He is the "lion" of the liberals as he is the champion of higher taxes and bigger government.

Get some perspective folks.

He wasn't alone on his immigration plan... if I remember correctly, he had a co-sponsor.

Now what was his name?

Didn't Finn state the speach was inspirational? I thought so -he simply noted it was more theatrical rather than political. Which pretty much these conventions are.

Yes, of course I did: "Quite remarkable and inspirational in his very human struggle.

This is the sad truth of public political discourse: It doesn't really matter what you write if you don't write "Yes, yes...You're right!"
