Well. Here we are seven months later. Let's see...... .
I'm twenty pounds lighter. (175-173-177 depending upon the day).
I've negotiated a settlement agreement, signed it and paid off my spouse so that I am now the sole owner of my apartment.
(Now we wait a year for the divorce to be final.)
(sigh)
Still miss her something awful. I don't tell anyone that.
I don't like being alone, but I know now that for whatever odd reason our relationship was toxic to my being. Such a harsh word--toxic-- there were such and so many wonderful moments/
/// ah... I am avoiding the truth.

I'm in training for my second marathon (I've set three new personal records in a row for Half Marathons this year. So I must be getting speedy or fit or something.) I've lost ten sizes. Who wants some size 42 suits>????

I do have moments of real joy.

And last Sunday was even better.

This Saturday I am having a Gathering on the Roof Deck.
Anyone who wants to come should message me for directions.
Sunday, yes--the day after the gathering,==== I am running an 18 mile run......you're welcome to come watch 5000 people run in 6 mile circles for three hours.... .

Oh, here's the latest. The boss announced a few days ago that he has sold the buildings and that sometime in the next 3 to 6 months we will all be out of our jobs.
So it goes.

I and I think a bunch of us have been waiting to hear on all this. I understand all about that first paragraph.

I want to hear what you have to say about the marathon running and associated observations no matter how obscure.

On the selling the buildings thing, I'm trying to think up non swear words, which I can let loose with. I can think of palliatives to say but won't. Or will I? I'll squeak in that this could all be a good thing somehow. How?

I don't know yet. I'm going to start a blog called "Transitional Species" and journal it all.

You're a good man, Joe, and I wish I could write like you.

How come you finished the race behind that fat guy? It was a handicap race, I suppose. (feeling generous this morning)

Yes, I know, Joe. This is how it goes. But (trust me!) you will move on & things will feel much less raw. Later.

Hugs & sympathy in the meantime.

And enjoy your running! Smile

Did you notice the fat guy was half my age?
Twit.
I ran behind a guy on Sunday that I swear hadn't bathed since he graduated from Neanderthal College 30,000 years ago. Incredible funk!
Just another of the many reasons for learning how to speed past others.

I can vouch for Joe's thinness. A regular merink.

Congrats on the race.

Bummer on the job situation.

Find out if there are job training programs with dress for success type stuff attached to them. These are often for women, but I bet there are men out there, particularly in this economy, who are looking for work and really need a suit. There's also the weight loss site I go to; I can ask. I have given my best clothes away to women who are out of work, or their husbands are, and are fending off bankruptcy in places like San Diego, Fort Lauderdale and Munster, Indiana.

A friend who is a writer bought a bunch of guinea hens against our reccomendations. His travails in raising these things has led to an article in an upcoming Atlantic Monthly . SO yes, putting your experience to paper could become another piece of contested "joint" property, by virtue of your skill at writing.

Ive peeked in to se how Joe was coming after his separation and Im really glad that hes emerging out the other side.
Its been my similar experience that, once you get to a point where you can think of her with the same passion that you recall the Carter Administration, youre home.
