isnt there somethng about people who are circumcised are part of "gods people"?

americans get circumcised, and jews...

Does this mean if the rapture really hapens that most americans would be considered part of his people or something?

i remember a lot of stuff in the bible about circumcised men being a sign they were with a certain group. and the part where they circumcised the other males from a village and then they killed them when they were sore the next day..

just curious, sounds peculiar though, do british people circumcise as well?

Circumcision probably had as much to do with one's willingness to submit to God's authority as for any health benefit. Perhaps that is why Moses was inspired to write that ". . .YOU must circumcise the foreskin of YOUR hearts and not harden YOUR necks any longer." (Deuteronomy 10:16)

And consider this comment by Paul: "Circumcision does not mean a thing, and uncircumcision means not a thing, but observance of God’s commandments does.” (1Corinthians 7:19)

I think rapture and Jews aren't necessarily going to be considered in the same breath.

We circumcise (we were at our elder nephew's -- the men cringed and the woman all made sure the baby was fine. He's fine; he's 12 1/2 now) but not for any sense of the coming of the Messiah. We do it in order to demonstrate our covenant with God. It's probably also intended to show a difference between Judaism and other religions from the time, much like kosher laws are. It's a setting apart kind of thing.

I believe you are referring to "circumcision of the heart" as far as God's people are concerned.
"But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God." - (Romans 2:29)

Introduction

This is a difficult subject for the man who is alive unto the world but dead unto God. The whole of Scripture is a mystery to him until he is spiritually awakened. True believers are circumcised of heart, that is, are in a right state of spirit and mind before God.

What does circumcision of heart mean?

To put it in a nutshell, circumcision of the heart is 'holiness.' It implies being cleansed from sin … "Let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God" (2 Corinthians 7:1). As a consequence, the believer has the virtues of Christ, and aims to fulfil the text which says, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect" (Matthew 5:48).
Of course we can Neo. I don't believe any of us have 100% of the 100% truth.
