oh gawd, Edgar. Trivia is both my specialty and my curse. Cleo was that basset hound..had a female's kind of droll voice. I remember that. It would break the 'third wall' and speak to the audience about the details of plot (ala George Burns).

Speaking of Dogs, then there was Topper! I'll stop now.

I remember the dog in Topper, only slightly. Can't recall what it looked like just now. Crazy, since I have one or two episodes on DVD.

His name was Neil or Neal..pretty sure it was a Saint Bernard. I loved Topper and watched it after school in late afternoon. Such a good show. And Topper's wife (character) was named ...?

sorry..my edit was too late. You're right about her name being Lee. What was her name on the show?

I guess I never paid her that much attention. It was his relation with the ghosts that kept me watching.

I was about 2 when Topper was on tv . I did see it in a sort of group rerun in the early 60's. I remember Leo G Carroll who then went on to star in "THE MAN FROM UNCLE"

Its a sort of role thats been reprised by Bob Newhart in "THE LIBRARIAN" series.

Too bad that you missed it (The Man from UNCLE) . I enjoyed it a lot, though perhaps now it might be dated, in retrospect. The Girl from Uncle was good spinoff, Leo J. Caroll played Waverly there too. She was a HOTTIE. The character was named April Dancer, played by Stephanie Powers.
