In fact, I wonder if I should petition the New Jersey legislature to either give us our own day off or stand out-patrioted by librul, Volvo-driving, latte-drinking, sandal-wearing Massachusettsians. (Is that the correct word?) I think I'd have a pretty convincing case.

Well in NH, the word most often used is "Massholes."
There's also a holiday that only Rhode Island gets, in August, for VJ Day. Or, as we called it when I worked there, "Rhode Island Saves the World Day".
