I always wanted to have a Jews for Jesus tee shirt. Talk about wanting it everywhich way.

The Jews for Jesus occasionally make a showing at the Metro station where I go to work. Naturally, they have to be upbeat and sunny, sunny, sunny because they're delivering The Good News.

They're right up there with Linden LaRouche, Jehovah's Witnesses because they have to hawk it on the street.

I have a higher esteem for homeless people than I do for the above named.

virtuous traits -

the beatitudes, and the fruits of the holy ghost - read about 'em both here -

(it's all starting to come back... benignity, we could use more of that)

Hi I'm daf - just couldn't help but put my two cents worth in here...

Who says that the Pope is editing the Bible? I thought the seven deadly sins were Catholic doctrine. I am sure they are listed as no no's in the Bible somewhere...but I will say I have never heard of recycling or littering in the Bible...though I am pretty sure that Adam and Eve were charged with caring for the earth - tending it and such...I guess you could wiggle it into that if you really wanted to.

The Vatican declares it a sin to become obscenely wealthy?

The must think "irony" is just like "goldy" or "silvery", only duller.

I heard about the potential new deadly sins on the radio, as I was driving to work this morning.
Admittedly I couldn't give then 100% of my attention, but you know, I rather liked them!
A nice social justice feel there, I thought! Very Happy
A definite improvement on the old ones, which seemed to concentrate far too much on people's sex lives, rather than far more important moral considerations.

Sure can't blame you for that statement Bear. The thing is, no one has the authority to edit the Bible. They just "believe" they do.

Catholics have the divine right to edit at will.
