Or maybe not.

Do me a favor. If you have an old box of Jiffy cornbread mix lurking in your cabinet will you look at it to see how many muffins it makes?

I whipped up some Jiffy tonight from a new box and put it into the pan that I always use to make Jiffy and it barely filled the bottom of the pan.

It's like missing 1/4 of the mix!

Or maybe I've lost my mind.

The box I used says it makes 6-8 muffins, requires one egg and 1/3 cup milk and lists the package weight as 8.5 oz.

If you have an old box I could use some reassurance to my mental state.

Thanks!

I don't personally know your pans.

Well this pan has been asking some big questions lately about life and death and god and politics and thread counts and gum.

Perhaps s/he has grown as a pan and Jiffy hasn't cheated me.

I just don't know anymore.

It could be that Mr. Jiffy is trying to break up with me.

He knows that I know that I can get better cornbread. He knows that he is essentially my booty call cornbread. Mo loves him though so I keep him around.

And, dys, please. I know pans have feelings. Especially my cornbread pan. It has been in my family for three generations and is treated with much tenderness.

If Jiffy is going to mistreat him ...... I'll have to get rid of Jiffy.

I always liked Jiffy....until one time when I bought Old Glory.

Of course then, once I was hooked, the supermarket I go to stopped carrying it.

Jiffy's good though, don't get me wrong.

I think Mr. Jiffy is going through some self-image issues. I heard him ask Uncle Ben whether that pan is making him look fat.

I suggest you lend full emotional support to Mr. Jiffy to help him get over this.

Uncle Ben had better BACK OFF because my cornbread was more like a corn pancake tonight -- seriously unfat.

Maybe I got an odd box but I'm telling you, something is different.

I'm serious about looking at old boxes of Jiffy if you have any around. The last one I bought was fine and that was probably only a few months ago. This box..... was slenderized.

Here. Jiffy comes in bottles, and I use it to clean the bathrooms. Can';t quite imagine anything edible involving it! And I don't use it on any pans except toilet pans!
