Our great-grandchildren will ask their parents: :Did you ever see a camera with just one lens?

I remembering reading about, but seeing the results, of some photographer who experimented with a series of lens in order to increase depth of field to near infinity. His pictures of corn fields showed that last rows in as clear focus as the front one, but I've lost his name.
