Since the DNA is identical, one couldn't prove murder wasn't commited by one twin or the other.

I wonder why this doesn't happen more often?

Seems like it would.

What about fingerprints? They are not the same, even in identical twins.

Well no, they're not, but fingerprints aren't always found at murder scenes.

DNA evidence is used rarely since other evidence is, many times, in abundance.

that's right. criminals leave behind all sorts of incriminating evidence besides dna.

Ok, what I'm saying is, if the identical twins look very much alike, enough that witnesses couldn't be sure which on they saw, and there were no fingerprints...they couldn't convict the wrong person.

Like if twins wanted to kill someone, they could decide to eat the same foods for a while, use the same soaps, shampoos, etc.

They could make it where there's reasonable doubt.

If a twin kills, out of precaution, both should get the chair...

This is about Texas, right?

They would also have to have the same clothes and hair style.

Besides, twins should be given the benefit of the doubt that they are not killers. Confused

When in doubt, inject them.

DNA has only been used as evidence only for the last few years. There are so many other ways of making a case, without even having to go to the trouble of checking for DNA. I think that someone has been listening to CSI too much! Laughing

Well duh....

On the night of the murder, what was the killer wearing....

blue jeans and a dark hensley shirt.....real stretch that both would be would be wearing that on the same day.

short brown hair, no part.

I'm serious, present evidence that could proove one over the other, assuming the killer had sense enough to wear gloves when commiting the crime, they didn't do it in the middle of the day 10 feet from people, wearing a name tag stating, "I'm Ed"

I'm willing to to say the killer would be caught, but I need more than, "there's lots of other ways" without examples.

phoenix, don't be bad mouthing Grissom, he's a hottie.
