Second movement, Part 5:

I'm sad that I lost my recording in Dolby Digital, even though the picture is not HD, it originally was on the Friday Discovery Channels concerts which they have dropped from their schedule. The Royal Albert Hall Organ in the Part 6 is incredible -- I think there were over a thousand performers even though that's usually reserved for the 8th.

That's Mahler's 8th, of course -- my goof.

Beautiful, Rockhead -- I thought this thread had died and was dissapointed.

I cracked open my Prokofiev complete symphony CD's to play in the car as I take trips and errands:

The fourth movement from Hindemith's Sonata for Unaccompanied Viola. In the score Hindemith jokingly wrote that the tempo should be roughly 600-640 quarter notes per minute. This guy seems to have taken it seriously:

I have a large collecton of classical records. To not appear to be snooty, I also have a small collection of Spike Jones and His City Slickers records.

Laughing Too high brow for me, BBB.

Okay, so I have a collection of Ray Coniff, including his pop orchestrations of classical music. Guilty pleasure. Do-wah.

Thank you ALL for keeping this thread active. I really have been lazy here.

June is Dvorak month at CSO. Last night's performance included In Nature's Realm, the Cello Concerto and the 8th Symphony (which is one of my favorites). Here's Nature's Realm with a long (2:30) introduction of the piece.

oops, so it is. Thanks, LW.

Tonight is another Dvorak festival performance at CSO with a repeat of the Cello Concerto, the 9th Symphony (my favorite), and the Carnival Overture. Here's Carnival
