I just want to say that it gives me great satisfaction that so many of you have visited this thread to look at the pictures and read my comments. I used to spend hours on end making up photo albums of all my trips, but quit doing so over one year ago, because nobody really looks at them. I have shelves full of them, and it'll probably remain unseen except by me.
Thank you for your comments; I really appreciate them.
ok Mr. CI one of the A2k Hawaii Meet made it to the top of Mauna Kea yesterday. It was awsome. There were snow bunnies clad in bikinis catching rays. Snow boarders and one skier. It was murder on my worn out lungs, but worth a gasp or two.
Then from Mauna Kea to Spencers Beach for body surfing and a picnic lunch. Life is good in Paradise.
Sglass, Congrats on your trek to Mauna Kea, but who's 4-wheel drive were you on? LOL Snow-boarding and beach on the same day is unique all by itself; only in Paradise.
soz, Spot on! He was there with his family, and spent most of the day enjoying the resort like the rest of us. It seemed that only employees of the hotel stopped him to shake his hand or get his autograph. It was an extra treat for us!
I'm pretty sure we'll be returing to Hawaii in the near future.
Yes Soz, it was indeed Steve Young. I sidled up to him at the refreshment stand but he was very standoffish until one of his kids was getting ready to get me with his squirt gun. He grabbed him by the wrist and gave me an apologetic grin? But the Youngs had a baby under one on a rubber ducky playing in the pool.
