Shocked I'm really flabbergasted I got it. One never knows what's buried in the dim recesses of one's mind.

Forties, (not real early)

She says she will prepare chicken for their dinner. He promises to bring a bottle of wine after the important meeting he says he must attend. However, he is so upset by what is said about her at the meeting, he leaves the bottle of wine/champagne on the meeting room table and arrives at her hotel room empty-handed.

Late 70's
She walked home from the bus stop alone in the dark and realized that she was being followed. Finally she spun around and turning the tables on her potential attacker, she took the wind out of his sails by screaming at him and demanding to know what he was up to.
