About 4 degrees.
I was able to turn off the swamp cooler with one door open to get the refreshing breeze. As soon as the rain stops, I can open the other door to get the cross breeze.

I didn't lose my power.
Yet.
Saved me from having to water tonight, but I'll have to rebuild my sand mounds manana, I presume.
I only water with a watering can, to this point. I'm not clear how well drip irrigation works exactly here in sand city, re clogging, and in any case I want to work out what exactly I'm doing first. I bought this house with an in-place primitive (to me) irrigation system (uh, I have designed a lot, but, again, not here) and I found out the buried pvc was broken early on. And since I'm going for natives or nearby natives, mainly - have to have my herbs - I'm hoping for a situation where temporary startup of natives is enough. Thus the watering can. A lot made it over the winter this last year. We'll see. I may try to work out some kind of auxiliary drip system.
Just to let you know- Mrs McTag and myself will be visiting the west coast in September, seeing friends in California and Oregon, and also aim to spend some days exploring the National Parks in Utah and Nevada.
Looking forward to that immensely.
FionaB has never been there before, and my last visit was in 1977.
I'll need a western hat like Dys's.
I was having a chat with GO'B on the former PM facility, now unfortunately suspended. And the information he posted is unfortunately lost.
I'll give it a couple of days, then what? Put my e-mail address on my Profile, probably, temporarily.
George, if you see this, let me know if that's the best way to continue our discussion.
"Mrs McTag and MYSELF"??? tsk tsk... McT, I'm surprised at you!
Well okay Mame, it's not very grammatical.
But I am so dominated and downtrodden by that woman, I feel I have to big myself up on occasion. In one sense only, of course.
