ORANGE SPICE CANDY COOKIES
An original recipe by BumbleBeeBoogie

Step #1:
1/2 cup butter (2 sticks)
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup granulated white sugar
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon orange extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
3/4 cup unsifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
11/2 teaspoon baking powder

Step #2:
1 cup finely chopped orange-spice gumdrop-type candy
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped almonds
1 cup regular rolled oats

Cream together in a large bowl the sugars and butter until fluffy; add the egg, flavorings and beat well.

In a second bowl, sift together the 3/4 cup of flour, salt, soda and baking powder, mix well.

In a third bowl, put the candy bits and the 3 tablespoons of flour, salt, almonds and rolled oats; stir to mix well.

Preheat the oven at 350 degrees F.

Add the dry and candy mixtures to the egg mixture and mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls on a non-stick baking sheet.

Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, until brown. Cool on a rack. Store in a tightly covered container. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
