I'm using the doowop-method as well. Saw it being done by De Niro playing the Devil in the movie "Angel Heart". He used a long pinkie nail, too...

Now that I think about it, the way I crack my eggs is the way they taught us in school about what to do if you're on fire.

You could always try sniffing the back end and then try mounting it on a hard surface.

Make sure you wash it well though, before eating.
