I think it looks ok, but since it's such a nice tree, I dred covering any of it up.

It'll look nice though, but I'm thinking since I don.t have another Christmas tree growing on the property yet, I may invest in a siver tree just like we had in the old.... um.... I mean... a few years back. You know the ones with the light wheel.

Don't like tinsel....nuh uh.

The last few years we had no tree, but instead did a holiday wall, and/or a themed table.

All very sedate.

This year, I decided to have a groovey 60's christmas, and have purchased....

.....

get ready.....

.......

Montana, don't put tinsel on that beautiful tree. Just the ornaments and
lights will suffice.

Chai, that's neat. Have you got pink ornaments? You always can wrap
them in pink tissue paper, if not. Great idea!!

We have a big tree every year, and I try to change the decoration from
year to year. Not sure what we'll do this year.

That's just a photo I googled...it's actually paler lilac, so I can do frosty blue balls and silver.

I already put the tinsel on, but I'm not crazy about it, so I'm going to take it all off tomorrow and take your advice CJ. Lights and ornaments would be fine since the tree alone is so pretty.

Montana...be careful. If your cat eats any of that tinsel (and for some strange reason, they all seem to think it looks edible,) it will make her very, very sick. Or worse.

That's precisely why I gave up on tinsel years ago.

Just a friendly warning.

Ok, got it all off the bottom half of the tree and am pleasantly surprised at how easily it's coming off.
Cat can't reach the rest, so I'll finish tomorrow.

Thanks again Eva :-D

Looks like the moral of this story is "Don't use tinsel unless you're trying to hide something or if you have cats"!

Pics of tinseless tree will follow tomorrow :-)

Heres our Christmas tree.
And the pattern to make it.
You can see the little rings we tie the ornaments on.

Live trees just make a mess and I dislike the garishness of synthetic trees. we did have a blue spruce in a pot for many years but it died.

When we put tinsel on the tree we could only put one piece at a time on. We couldn't ""double" tinsel. The tinsel couldn't block or go over an ornament. My mom was strict....she had rules when it came to tinsel Laughing

In the end though, the tree ended up looking really nice Very Happy

I'm sure it did TTH :-D

Wow! One at a time would have been torture with that big tree Laughing

It did look ok with the tinsel, but it looked better without it, so down it came. Well, most of it anyway. I'll take the rest off the top today and see if I can't finish that tree.

Looks like I cut it down just in time because it's snowing :-)
