Okay, let me have a go:

The bus contains 7 kids =14 legs

each kid has 7 bags = 49 bags

each bag contains 56 cats (big and small)

sooo, 56 x 4 legs = 224
multiply by bags = 10976
plus kids legs = 14
-------
10990*

But! if the bus has a driver and you include his/her legs 10992

Bet it's wrong, but I tried (without a calculator)

You're very welcome!

Was afraid it would be wrong...

Maths isn't my strong point, took a whole sheet of A4 to work it out. But it exercised my brain for a while - so, thank YOU...

Why do you get 56 cats, when there are 7 big cats each big cat has 7 small cats? 7x7 =49

Because each bag contains 7 big cats, each of whom has 7 small ones.
56 is the number of cats, big and small, contained in each bag.

Someone call the SPCA!

Who said any of the children have legs? Maybe there is a ninja on the bus who decided to immobilise them?

Maybe the ninja will be the one to call the SPCA, and maybe he is quite justified in de-legging the children as the children are clearly out of line with seven bags of frenzied overstuffed cat madness each. Who puts 56 cats in a bag? Let alone putting 392 cats into seven bags!!!
