Hi everyone,

I have a coax broadband connection coming into my house so use a modem that has a coax connection. I want to make this connection wireless. I know I can use a wireless lan access point attached to the coax modem to share the connection to my house but i was wondering if I can use a wireless adsl modem to work with coax modem ? or will the setting conflict, is there a way to disable the connection settings on the wireless adsl modem so it is just a wireless access point? hope this makes sense.

any ideas

Cheers

Wireless routers can sometimes be used as access points, but I would not recommend the configuration you've just described.

Typically, you'll only get one IP address from the cable modem, so you need a wireless access point that is either a router/firewall or a plain-jane access point.

cheers drewdad your a legend in your own time !

though configuring an adsl router as a plabe jane access point would be grief.
