This conversation goes back to 2007, I see. I have not changed my views since then.
As far as giving offence goes (failed, you say) it is offensive to some, people like me, to see others walking about with tattooed skin exposed, many with body piercings and metalwork affixed to their flesh. That is truly offensive, a blot on the human landscape.
Some evidently do it to shock: it works. But these people have a mental problem. As for the others, who evidently think it is in some way attractive or an improvement, those I have to say sadly delude themselves.
