Right....

So, thanks for all the input on this thread! It was really helpful, and Maine was, in fact, amazing. I've actually got pictures somewhere...

So let me find some and I'll be back to post them. Then you can all let me know that they are way too kitschy, and what you'd recommend I'd rather do next time I go to Maine...!

I wanted to go to Maine, so I headed north.
Somewhere in Portsmouth NH, I saw a road sign saying "Maine, left".
So I went back home.

[sorry]

Pictures of Pemaquid Point... Well, not actually of Pemaquid Point, but rather of the sea seen from the rocky bit when you're out at the Pemaquid Point lighthouse and walk/climb down the rocks to the water.

It was such a nice, quiet, beautiful late afternoon. Amazing light. I really enjoyed that.

So, due to my off timing (which is always off.... kind of beneficial when on vacation, though, as it helps avoiding all those tourists... then again, it also helps ending up in front of locked museum doors) there was barely anybody around the light house when I went to the Point.

Here's a view of the foghorn building, seen walking past the lighthouse towards the rocks.....

.... and here is the same building, with the setting sun shining through the windows:

Notice the white picket fence in the first picture? Can I say "very New England" here?

If I went there, I would be photographing foghorns and lighthouses, and lighthouses and foghorns, and ...

Why leaves?

Really good photos, old europe!

Yes, I've certainly been to about half a dozen lighthouses. There must be some other pictures in between.
