I seem to remember reading that various members of the Catholic church in italy helped nazis to relocate.
Interesting, I think I had read about Sgt. Camilo Mejia and hadn't picked up on that.

I read that as well. The Catholics weren't that fond of the people the Nazis were targeting, so they helped in some cases... as the story goes.

Forget I said Costa Rica... don't know what I was thinking. It was Chile.

Well, I was speaking of some in the hierarchy of the church, and I can't back that memory up with a source.
