Ignoring a possible psychosomatic response Very Happy I've been experiencing what I assume is arthritis type pain in only one knuckle. The one above my wedding ring. It's not too tight. I can slip it on and off pretty easy. Anyone else ever had this problem with rings?

Is your ring unusually heavy? Are you left handed?

No and no. It's just a plain gold band, and I'm right handed.

Maybe you've just jammed it without knowing?

Do you wear other jewelry and if so do you ever have a reaction to it?

Why not try wearing the ring on your right hand for a little while (just a little while! Very Happy ) to see if the arthritic pain remains in your "wedding ring finger". The pain may have nothing to do with wearing the ring.

Just a stud in my left ear. No problems with that.

So you just took it off, Wilso?

I normally take it off at night. I took it off this afternoon and haven't put it back on.

Ah, I see.

Why not leave it off that finger for a couple of days & see if that makes a difference?

I have a weekness in one of my wrists. If I wear anything on that wrist it causes discomfort, doesn't have to be really tight. It just seems to aggravate the problem. It could be something like that, perhaps?

It's been getting better. Looks like it's going to become a piece of "going out" jewellry.

@Wilso,
I know this was originally posted in 2007, but I have been having arthritis pain in my joints on the hand with my gold ring, when I change it to the right hand, the pain stops
