Smoking is akin to playing Russian roulette wit your life. In that you spin the barrel and hope that the the chamber is empty. Are you still playing the game or have you managed to beat the addiction?

What about all those nonsmokers, who never smoked a thing in their entire lives, but still developed lung cancer?

What wisdom do you have for them? Cool

Is that your justification for continuing to smoke? quote="Miller"]What about all those nonsmokers, who never smoked a thing in their entire lives, but still developed lung cancer?

Is that your justification for continuing to smoke? Consider the fact that smoking greatly enhances the chance of contracting lung cancer and lung disease.

I was curious as to what prompted smokers to give up the habit. As well as what despite all the evidence available regarding the health issues related to smoking causes people to continue to smoke.

It is not a habit, it is an addiction. I guess you could ask the same question to alcoholics.
