What can you hear, while you are here?

What are you listening to? A TV program, music, outdoor or indoor sounds, etc. No cheating---don't say you have the TV on the news channel when it's really on the cartoon channel--be honest. What's fun is if someone who posts right after you happens to be listening to the same thing you just posted.

The exhaust fan and the sounds of power tools coming from my neighbors who are building a new deck.

(If anyone else is listening to the same thing, it'll be very strange)

What I'm listening to ...

The noise of the heater
The sound of the rain outside the window
My husband's wonderful laughter as he watches tv in the other room
The occassional barking of the neighbour's dog

The hum of the computer tower in my left ear. The sound of air coming out the vent in the other room in my right ear. The clickity clickity click of my fingers on the keyboard.

Very peaceful.

Oh no, I just looked up the weather there right now and it sounds delightful. I'll trade ya.

Anyway...now I'm hearing a cat trotting down the hall (thump, thump, thump, thump) following my husband, who's sniffing and stretching, pausing to say "good morning sweetie" on his way to the coffee pot.

There was a machine running up until a minute ago, so the quiet now seems like absolut bliss...

Apart from that I hear the keyboard, some people talk, some cars.

The four fountains from the pool outside.

Some kind of machine humming.

Birds.

Not bad for living in an apartment in the heart of downtown Austin!

whereabouts down town?

Just curious because sometimes I wonder what it'd be like to live in a condo DT.
Those new places by Whole Foods are nice. Up and down 5th street to Guadalupe.

On the odd occassion I go to PF Changs there, I look at the former warehouses that are now apts/condos. I always think I wouldn't like that. Too noisy on weekends.

You know where Lamar and Hether/Mary are? There's a La Feria restaurant on the corner, and a Mothers window tinting....that's my street, Hether, closer down near Bluebonnet.

Really quiet there.

When the weathers cool and you can open your windows at night, I love hearing the train in the distance. (she said tying it back into sounds)

I'm at Austin Garden Apts on Lamar near St. John's and 183.

I've been here for years now.

So happy.

It's really gorgeous. Over the top with flowers, except the late freeze this winter did some damage, so it's slowly rebounding in a few areas.

It's set back from the street, so it's like a private oasis.

We have, I guess, it's about a two-acre park, too.

Lots of amenities for the price.

Probably the best value in Austin, I'd say.

Never been happier with my living arrangements!!!

Cheap and safe and quiet and gorgeous and ... home!

I guess it's not really the heart of downtown, if you're a local, but it's pretty darn close!
