A German woman fell onto a pencil when she was 4 years old and has had it lodged in her brain for 55 years. An operation has removed most of it.

Shocked
littlek,
How awful that the woman had to suffer all those years. She must be a very strong person to put up with pain that long.

Did she have to sit in the ER for 55 years because of socialized medicine?

<grins>

Of course, Germany has a universal health care system, but doesn't have a socialized health care system.

You're not very good at these things, are you?

Maybe not, there aren't that many nerves in the brain (to detect pain), didn't you see how Hannibal Lecter sliced that guys head open.

I imagine her family is relieved to be free of her repeating joke, "now where did I put my pencil?"

Maybe she was in a socialist relgious hospital, where suffering equates to redemption.

Part of the 3 inch pencil is still lodged in her brain.
The clinic where the procedure was performed is the Berlin-Weissensee clinic and did you say that they don't believe in God at that clinic?

As Old Europe already hinted, Miller isn't very informed about these things. She already proved herself ignorant about Germany's health care system being universal but not "socialized". How can you expect her to know the role of religion under socialism? Get off your elitist, librul, high European horse already!
